Man found dead inside Sebastopol home after weekend fire

West County fire officials Monday continued to investigate the cause of a fire that may have led to the death of a Sebastopol man. Bradford Joseph Kolbach, 50, was found dead in the Fredricks Road home late Saturday by firefighters who were attempting to put out the fire. A dog at the home also was found dead inside the home.

Mondays low gas prices

Santa Rosas average price for regular gasoline was $3.020 a gallon today, according to AAA. A year ago, it was $4.542. Among the areas typically low-price stations, these prices were reported this morning: --$2.819 at Arco at Hearn and Corby Avenues in Santa Rosa. --$2.839 at Arco at Fourth Street and Brookwood Avenue in Santa Rosa.

Apples Jobs back at work

SEATTLE (AP) - Apple Inc. co-founder and CEO Steve Jobs is back at work after a five-and-a-half-month medical leave, during which he received a liver transplant. Jobs, 54, is working from Apples Cupertino, Calif., headquarters a few days a week and working from home the remaining days, Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said Monday.

Relief repaying student loans

NEW YORK -- Repaying a student loan could soon be a little less painful. Starting this week, anyone with a federal student loan can apply for a program that caps monthly payments based on income, and forgives remaining balances after 25 years. Those choosing to work in public service could have their loans forgiven after just 10 years.
